During my tenure as the Video Editor at The Red & Black, I spearheaded the creation of engaging content across various platforms, including TikTok, Instagram Reels, and the homepage. Over the span of my role, I meticulously crafted and pitched more than 40 captivating videos, ensuring each piece resonated with our audience. Not only did I lead a talented team of five contributors and an assistant editor, but I also collaborated closely with other desk editors to maintain a consistent schedule, delivering two high-quality videos every week. Utilizing my expertise in Adobe Premiere Pro, I seamlessly edited each video to perfection, ensuring a polished final product. Additionally, I efficiently managed our video library using the WeVideo Package, ensuring organization and accessibility for future projects. Below are some of my favorite projects!
In this video, we delve into the world of sorority house directors, affectionately known as "house moms," at the University of Georgia. Join us as we meet dedicated individuals like Jane Self, Carolyn Ashley, and Chris Ford, who oversee the bustling sorority houses on Milledge Avenue. Through candid interviews and behind-the-scenes footage, we explore their essential role in creating a supportive and nurturing environment for the sorority members. From managing facilities to fostering camaraderie among the members themselves, we uncover the multifaceted responsibilities they juggle on a daily basis. Through their stories, we gain insight into the challenges and rewards of being a guiding presence in the lives of young women navigating college life.
One of my favorite traditions in Athens is the annual Twilight Criterium race. It typically takes place in the evening, hence the name "Twilight," and features criterium races, which are short-course, closed-circuit bicycle races. In the Twilight Criterium, cyclists compete on a looped course through city streets, often passing by landmarks and attracting crowds of spectators. The event usually includes multiple races catering to different skill levels and categories, from amateur to professional. The Twilight Criterium is known for its fast-paced and exciting atmosphere, drawing both participants and spectators from the local community and beyond.
